Uma & Kevin (Chicago and Denver colorado asian and south asian luxury editorial wedding photographer - Bridgeport Art Center , Marriott Marquis Hotel, and 31st street beach photo shoot)

It’s been several years since Uma & Kevin’s wedding reception (in 2019), but I am finally getting a chance to blog it <3! I shot these two’s engagement shoot when I was actually living in Georgia, and had the dream of moving to Chicago in 2018 (I flew up for their engagement shoot). By the time their reception came around, I was already in my first year living in Chicago!

Blogging these two’s reception day now, I remember how in awe I was of Chicago, and how spectacular I thought the city was! It was so special getting to capture their couple portraits and first look by a beautiful harbor, and get to celebrate them in a stunning art center afterwards.

These two actually already had their civil ceremony, but still wanted to be able to celebrate with their friends and family. Uma’s father actually flew in to the U.S for the first time in his life from Uzbekistan!

Before their wedding reception, I did plenty of location scouting at the Bridgeport Art Center , and absolutely loved the industrial styled building with so much colorful art inside. Uma and Kevin found 31st street beach for their first look, and I absolutely loved how unique and editorial their couple portraits turned out! Scroll down to see their colorful & unique reception celebration day!

Then we drove to beautiful harbor where Kevin and Uma had their first look. Scroll down to see his reaction!

These two’s nieces were freezing from all the Chicago wind, so of course the bride warmed them up <3!!

I still remember how fragrant all their greenery was, and how each of the stems were placed individually for this ornate look!

Cocktail hour was served in THE most ginormous elevator!

Of course, signature drinks that reflect the groom and bride’s personalities!

Fresh Indian appetizers absolutely made my night! The dinner and desserts were even better!

Indian Garden served for dinner. A b s o l u t e l y delicious!

These two entered with a specially choreographed dance with the crowd cheering!

Instead of a full sangeet, Kevin’s friends choreographed a special dance for the couple!

Kevin’s reaction to some of his friends’ stories about him was some of the best part of the night!

The bride and groom’s thank you speech for all their guests, especially the ones who flew in to celebrate them!

Uma and Kevin had a room full of desserts, but the flan had to be my favorite!

The rest of the night of course was full of celebration and so, so much dancing. Definitely a reception to remember <3!
